Risk Control Consultant
Overview
Collier Insurance is seeking an experienced Risk Control Consultant to provide advisory and project-based services to our commercial insurance clients. This role focuses on improving client risk profiles, supporting loss prevention strategies, and enhancing overall safety and compliance programs.
Engagement Structure
- Independent contractor
- Approximately 20–25 hours per month
- Flexible, project-based engagement
Core Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Risk Management
- Consult with clients on safety culture development, including policies, procedures, safety committees, and accident investigations
- Provide guidance on security procedures and best practices
- Support clients in addressing OSHA requirements and regulatory compliance
- Advise on fire and life safety standards
Program Development & Compliance
- Assist in the development of emergency response procedures
- Support implementation of safety systems and risk management frameworks
- Provide insight on ADA, NFPA standards, and applicable building and safety codes
- Offer guidance on general liability exposures and reasonable care practices
Insurance & Risk Analysis
- Review and validate Experience Modification Ratings (EMR)
- Assist in projecting and managing EMR trends
- Support claims analysis and identify loss trends
Client & Carrier Coordination
- Coordinate insurer inspections for property, auto, and liability lines
- Attend inspections as a client representative when needed
- Assist clients in responding to carrier recommendations and corrective actions
Problem Solving & Project Support
- Help clients resolve complex or non-routine risk issues
- Conduct research and provide practical solutions for emerging concerns
- Assist with drafting or reviewing indemnity agreements for business relationships
